The Records and Information Center in Customer Service houses all the filings made with the IUC. Unless otherwise provided by law, all public records, other than confidential records, maintained by the IUC shall be made available for public inspection.
Locate filings
You can find public documents on file with the IUC in multiple ways:
- View electronic files - In 2009 the IUC implemented an electronic filing system (EFS) for filings and documents. Public documents are available for viewing and downloading in EFS.
- In person - You may examine public records of the IUC during the regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding official state holidays. The IUC is located at 1375 E. Court Ave. in Des Moines. Visitor parking is available in the lots to the west and south of the building. Public entrance to the building is on the west side. The Records and Information Center is located in the Customer Service area in the north wing.
- Submit a request in writing - Requests for available information may be submitted to the address above, following requirements found in 199 Iowa Administrative Code (IAC) 1.9(7)b. Be sure to include contact information such as an email address and phone number.
